Dennis Pechstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vinzenz Freye, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. When Graham Häfele fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PB66's protests and gave Graham Häfele a yellow card for diving instead. Eusebio Notthoff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egmund Lehmler having to interfere. After 32 played minutes PB66 got a freekick which was hit by Kai Eberts. Magnus Schock was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 32nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. During the 34th minute of the match Graham Häfele completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Graham Häfele a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 35 played minutes PB66 got a freekick which was hit by Graham Häfele. After 37 played minutes PB66 got a freekick which was hit by Kai Eberts. TV1884Erlangen's Magnus Schock couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 38th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for PB66. Vinzenz Freye fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Pechstein having to interfere. Helmuth Böll sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vinzenz Freye to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vinzenz Freye in the 55th minute of play forced PB66's goalkeeper Dennis Pechstein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rudolf Klütz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Egmund Lehmler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Penalty! 0-2 came through a penalty shot after 64 played minutes, when TV1884Erlangen:s Magnus Schock calmly waited for PB66:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. After a rather tough play, TV1884Erlangen's Eliah Hölzgen got a free kick in the 68th minute. Dennis Pechstein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Helmuth Böll in the 71st minute of the match. Dennis Pechstein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vinzenz Freye in the 73rd minute of play. Dennis Pechstein made an important save on a dangerous shot by Helmuth Böll in the 75th minute. Egmund Lehmler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kai Eberts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. But to his dismay, Helmuth Böll quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind PB66's goalkeeper Dennis Pechstein, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. During the 92nd minute of the match Elvis Olk completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Elvis Olk a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. 0-4 came through a penalty shot after 96 played minutes, when TV1884Erlangen:s Magnus Schock calmly waited for PB66:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. TV1884Erlangen's Peter-Michael Windhausen got a good chance for a goal in the 100th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
