Spectators: 6716 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1716, VIP seats: 0) Ringo Eichler started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Friedrich Höhne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ringo Eichler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Toralf Fimmen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dellwig's supporters rose to their feet, but Toralf Fimmen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Friedrich Höhne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 21 minutes into the match, Dellwig's goal looked a bit too open when Hannes Börstling came free, but Klaudius Krug reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute, Julius Nunold hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hannes Börstling's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Klaudius Krug read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Dellwig's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ringo Eichler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Toralf Fimmen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Friedrich Höhne having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Dellwig's goal looked a bit too open when Hannes Börstling came free, but Klaudius Krug reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Friedrich Höhne made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Toralf Fimmen sent off a good shot on target. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 53rd minute, Helko Riether ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Klaudius Krug was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Helko Riether could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Klaudius Krug made a huge save. If Helko Riether had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Friedrich Höhne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ringo Eichler, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Bruckner's zone, Toralf Fimmen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Friedrich Höhne came out of the goal and Toralf Fimmen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fortunatus Wünsche hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Toralf Fimmen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Friedrich Höhne having to interfere. Rene Resch hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute, Ringo Eichler ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Friedrich Höhne was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The supporters of Bruckner booed when Dellwig was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julius Nunold didn't get a good kick on the ball. Klaudius Krug showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hannes Börstling, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Bruckner eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
