Nico Jackisch could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Karl-Axel Arvidsson made a huge save. Napoli's Hansi Demmel was substituted for Kuno Höppner. In the 95th match minute, Van Lingenshoft FSV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Günther Meibeck to maneuver through the defense. Van Lingenshoft FSV were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Napoli to leave the ground with a draw.
