Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Pitt Stocker took the kick off in the first half of the match. After having played for 3 minutes, Laurenz Hertel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Spriestersbach FSV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laurenz Hertel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ralph Scheiba blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Godwin Bastmüller having to make a save. In the 22nd minute of the match Spriestersbach FSV got a corner. Schalke's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Yannis Fiedeler ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Spriestersbach FSV's corner Yannis Fiedeler fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Godwin Bastmüller quite easily take care of the ball. Godwin Bastmüller made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Ralph Scheiba sent off a good shot on target. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Spriestersbach FSV's goalkeeper Achim Lautenbach, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Ralph Scheiba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurenz Hertel in the 41st minute of play forced Schalke's goalkeeper Godwin Bastmüller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Godwin Bastmüller showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laurenz Hertel in the 45th minute of the match. In the 46th minute, Ralph Scheiba got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Laurenz Hertel made a kick off. After some careless play in the Schalke defense, Ralph Scheiba kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Godwin Bastmüller. The Schalke fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Godwin Bastmüller should have stopped the shot. Adil Lauf kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. 62 minutes had been played when some careless play by Schalke's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Yannis Fiedeler was slow to take the kick. During this time Spriestersbach FSV's players had a chance to rest. Laurenz Hertel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ralph Scheiba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Laurenz Hertel in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Godwin Bastmüller saved Schalke from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Stefan Rosenhagen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Spriestersbach FSV's supporters rose to their feet, but Stefan Rosenhagen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Godwin Bastmüller breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ralph Scheiba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Godwin Bastmüller having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Laurenz Hertel in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Godwin Bastmüller prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 91 minutes into the match, Schalke's goal looked a bit too open when Ralph Scheiba came free, but Godwin Bastmüller reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Godwin Bastmüller made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laurenz Hertel in the 96th minute of play. Godwin Bastmüller stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Laurenz Hertel's shot from short distance in the 98th minute. Spriestersbach FSV were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Schalke for a fine match.
