After 7 played minutes, Hellefeld's Ferdi Meis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fidelio Wiedmann came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hellefeld reached it. After 15 minutes Hellefeld's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hendrik Ekenberg who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Hendrik Ekenberg got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Arthur Bauerschmidt quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Mehmet Cramer kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. TSG Ailingen SK's Fidelio Wiedmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Bossert in the 18th minute of play. Fidelio Wiedmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno Bossert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fidelio Wiedmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Bossert in the 21st minute of play. In the 24th match minute, TSG Ailingen SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roland Heibrink to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mehmet Cramer in the 29th minute of play forced Hellefeld's goalkeeper Arthur Bauerschmidt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Hellefeld's goal looked a bit too open when Rainer Kunze came free, but Arthur Bauerschmidt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arthur Bauerschmidt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rainer Kunze, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fidelio Wiedmann prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to TSG Ailingen SK getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Clemens Melkis hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bruno Bossert was the one to do the kick off. Fidelio Wiedmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oliver Uhl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 53 minutes into the game, Saul Schallenberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Fidelio Wiedmann was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 58th minute Béla Skudelny shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fidelio Wiedmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bruno Bossert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fidelio Wiedmann having to interfere. TSG Ailingen SK's Clemens Melkis quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Knud Wissler, made in the 87th minute of the game. If Rainer Kunze had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 89 minutes into the game, Mehmet Cramer recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Arthur Bauerschmidt. Mehmet Cramer showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Fidelio Wiedmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Béla Skudelny in the 92nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Clemens Melkis during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 93rd match minute, TSG Ailingen SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clemens Melkis to maneuver through the defense. Hellefeld's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
