In the 23rd match minute, Pommes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Helmut Gulatz to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Dy Dresden's Steffen Schug got control of the ball when Gerd Döll tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pommes FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jean Hausotter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 61 minutes into the match, Dy Dresden's goal looked a bit too open when Gerd Döll came free, but Steffen Schug reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
