Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Günter Weisbrod to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute Joachim Anklam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alan Hastedt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Marcel Silbermann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 70 played minutes Zollersteighof FSV got a freekick which was hit by Wim Kossowski. Joachim Anklam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Alan Hastedt made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Stephan Genthe sent off a good shot on target. 83 minutes into the game, Eddy Jenssen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zollersteighof FSV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Heidenhofen FSV the free kick. When Josip Küster came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Heidenhofen FSV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Josip Küster couldn't finish the play.
