Hertmann's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Harry Schäfer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Jörg Hog-Heidel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Quentin Gauweiler, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
