Daniel Høie came out and tried to block the shot, but Jörgen Anbacher slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 14th minute. In the 17th minute, Fernandinho Ramalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 18th minute, Jens Jun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 28 minutes into the match, Borrusia Dortmund's goal looked a bit too open when Lee Shyan came free, but Rüdiger Hesse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Daniel Høie managed to avoid a goal in the 30thth minute, when Borrusia Dortmund's Bum-Kun Obser fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernandinho Ramalho in the 32nd minute of play forced Borrusia Dortmund's goalkeeper Rüdiger Hesse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Borrusia Dortmund's Jörgen Anbacher got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bum-Kun Obser in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Daniel Høie prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Borrusia Dortmund's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. The Borrusia Dortmund players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Jarlitz were winning 1-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fernandinho Ramalho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The Jarlitz supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Jarlitz would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
