Wilhelm Ostwald stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ariel Lorien's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. Tomasz Stapf struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Conny Quabeck didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Renninghausen. Lowell Bradford hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. If Ariel Lorien had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Anthony Atan managed to get in a good position for a shot. SSC Napoli's supporters rose to their feet, but Anthony Atan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilhelm Ostwald breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wilhelm Ostwald didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anthony Atan went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in SSC Napoli's zone, Mathias Böhme stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Conny Quabeck came out of the goal and Mathias Böhme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jürgen Staubach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anthony Atan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilhelm Ostwald having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Renninghausen's Thilo Pisch got a free kick in the 29th minute. When Jürgen Staubach fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SSC Napoli's protests and gave Jürgen Staubach a yellow card for diving instead. Henry Hoppe took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Conny Quabeck. SSC Napoli's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, SSC Napoli's goal looked a bit too open when Mathias Böhme came free, but Conny Quabeck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ariel Lorien fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilhelm Ostwald having to interfere. In the 57th minute, Anthony Atan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tomasz Stapf scored 2-1 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Conny Quabeck, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, SSC Napoli's Jürgen Staubach got a free kick in the 69th minute. When Jürgen Staubach came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the SSC Napoli fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jürgen Staubach couldn't finish the play. The corner ended in Henry Hoppe almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SSC Napoli's Conny Quabeck did a great save. Lowell Bradford hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. 85 minutes into the match, SSC Napoli's goal looked a bit too open when Mathias Böhme came free, but Conny Quabeck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in SSC Napoli fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 92nd minute. Penalty! In the 98th minute, Mathias Böhme ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Conny Quabeck was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. SSC Napoli's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
