After a defensive mix-up in Notwende FC's zone, Aldo Krickel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kai Schorling came out of the goal and Aldo Krickel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Gernot Bomke managed to get in a good position for a shot. Notwende FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gernot Bomke was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vinzenz Dringelstein breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 27 minutes into the match, Gernot Bomke notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Rubitz FC's Vinzenz Dringelstein. Vinzenz Dringelstein was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 36th minute, Aldo Krickel made a precise shot to the right of Kai Schorling. Notwende FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Sebastian Bassen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Vinzenz Dringelstein tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vinzenz Dringelstein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gernot Bomke in the 63rd minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Aldo Krickel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Notwende FC's goalkeeper Kai Schorling, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Aldo Krickel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kai Schorling stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jens Repplinger's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Rubitz FC's Jens Repplinger got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
