The referee showed Günther Westphal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. AHA66's Clemens Bittel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rudolf Nabor in the 21st minute of play. Clemens Bittel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rudolf Nabor's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Jacek Kahl was shown his second yellow card after 26 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of AHA66 booed when Sport&Erlebnis Xantia eV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacek Kahl didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 31 played minutes Sport&Erlebnis Xantia eV got a freekick which was hit by Ralf Poschmann. The audience was convinced that Günther Westphal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wolf Schwertges was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rudolf Nabor in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clemens Bittel saved AHA66 from getting behind. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Günther Westphal to make the kick off. Günther Westphal came free in the 62nd minute and tried to tip the ball over Wolf Schwertges, but to the joy of Sport&Erlebnis Xantia eV's supporters the ball went over. When Johann Gabriel fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sport&Erlebnis Xantia eV's protests and gave Johann Gabriel a yellow card for diving instead. After 68 played minutes Sport&Erlebnis Xantia eV got a freekick which was hit by Johann Gabriel. Rudolf Nabor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Clemens Bittel made a huge save. 77 minutes into the match, AHA66's Jorge Watzl sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wolf Schwertges narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Jorge Watzl came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the AHA66 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Watzl couldn't finish the play. Clemens Bittel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rudolf Nabor, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 85th minute of the match Efraim Jech sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wolf Schwertges skillfully saved the ball. Günther Westphal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wolf Schwertges having to make a save. 90 minutes into the match, Günther Westphal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wolf Schwertges. Sport&Erlebnis Xantia eV's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Günther Westphal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Wolf Schwertges didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Günther Westphal went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. For all the effort they put into the match, the Sport&Erlebnis Xantia eV players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for AHA66.
