After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Florenz Bleich managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kaltensundheim FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Florenz Bleich was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfons Holländer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With an all-out effort, Kleinstürzlheim FC's Moritz Hinrichsen threw himself towards the right post 46 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jens Gillardon, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jens Gillardon couldn't finish the play. Kaltensundheim FC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Kleinstürzlheim FC had won, even though Kaltensundheim FC had held more of the ball.
