When Garsitz's Emmerich Wolters in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Eberhard Lötters managed to get in a good position for a shot. Garsitz's supporters rose to their feet, but Eberhard Lötters was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Helmut Nabor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tobias Nitsch was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Felix Pathe showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 20 minute of play. Adrien Sobbe might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tobias Nitsch. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adrien Sobbe ran back to his position shaking his head. If Michael Keun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Helmut Nabor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eberhard Lötters in the 39th minute of the match. 2-1 became the score in the 41st minute when Michael Keun elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After some careless play in the FC Fabian defense, Eberhard Lötters kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Helmut Nabor. The FC Fabian fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Helmut Nabor should have stopped the shot. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Felix Pathe made the kick off in the second half. Michael Keun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Emmerich Wolters could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Helmut Nabor made a huge save. Tobias Nitsch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Pathe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Emmerich Wolters fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Garsitz's protests and gave Emmerich Wolters a yellow card for diving instead. After 71 played minutes Garsitz got a freekick which was hit by Emmerich Wolters. Yannik Krei blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tobias Nitsch having to make a save. Tobias Nitsch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomas Stolz in the 78th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Michael Keun in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Helmut Nabor prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Pathe in the 81st minute of play forced Garsitz's goalkeeper Tobias Nitsch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Helmut Nabor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emmerich Wolters in the 83rd minute. In the 88th minute Michael Keun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Helmut Nabor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 90th minute of the match Eckard Butterbach shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tobias Nitsch showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Michael Keun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tobias Nitsch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Pathe, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC Fabian fans cheered their team off the field, for while Garsitz had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
