Reinhold Bliska could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Karsten Behrens made a huge save. Karsten Behrens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benni Ullmann in the 15th minute of the match. FC Herne 08's Henning Amann got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Oliver Böringer's late challenge caught a FC Herne 08's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oliver Böringer helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Bökenbusch fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 22nd minute. Penalty! An unexpectedly hard shot by Benni Ullmann in the 30th minute of play forced Bökenbusch's goalkeeper Karsten Behrens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Karsten Behrens had in the 66thth minute some difficulties stopping Gennaro Kölle's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ingo Hock couldn't finish the play. In the 97th minute FC Herne 08 were awarded a corner. Gennaro Kölle went to the cornerflag to take it. Benni Ullmann made a great header on FC Herne 08's corner, it was just that Bökenbusch's Karsten Behrens managed to reach the ball for a save. When the referee blew the final whistle, FC Herne 08 could leave the field as winners, despite Bökenbusch having more of the ball for most of the match.
