Spectators: 7493 (Terracing: 5621, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) Hugo Bügen made the kick off and thus started the match. 3 minutes into the game, Rothen's Predrag Ackermann nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ole Zutt made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 8thth minute of the game Jürgen Holzwart who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but 1.FC Magdeburg's Ole Zutt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 13 minutes, Dan Püttmann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 1.FC Magdeburg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dan Püttmann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 18 minutes into the game, Rothen's Eppo Koser nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ole Zutt made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Jürgen Holzwart received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ole Zutt came out and tried to block the shot, but Jürgen Holzwart slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 22nd minute. After 25 played minutes Rothen got a freekick which was hit by Max Josef Papies. In the 26th minute, Hugo Bügen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Christoph Köhnen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dan Püttmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rothen's Jürgen Holzwart got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jürgen Holzwart to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wilken Stark during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 58th match minute, 1.FC Magdeburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilken Stark to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jürgen Holzwart in the 59th minute of play forced 1.FC Magdeburg's goalkeeper Ole Zutt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Rothen's goalkeeper Christoph Köhnen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dan Püttmann. In the 63rd minute, Predrag Ackermann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rothen were awarded a corner in the 69th minute after 1.FC Magdeburg's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Predrag Ackermann took the corner. Rothen's Jürgen Holzwart was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ole Zutt in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The audience was convinced that Jürgen Holzwart's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ole Zutt was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Ole Zutt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eppo Koser, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jürgen Holzwart in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ole Zutt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hugo Bügen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Christoph Köhnen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 84 minutes into the game, Predrag Ackermann was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rothen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave 1.FC Magdeburg the free kick. After a rather tough play, Rothen's Predrag Ackermann got a free kick in the 84th minute. Predrag Ackermann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Ole Zutt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jürgen Holzwart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the referee ended the match the Rothen players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
