FSV Krefeld's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ralph Weichert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Asbjörn Karger in the 15th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Asbjörn Karger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ralph Weichert was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hendrik Pechmann in the 27th minute of play forced FSV Krefeld's goalkeeper Ralph Weichert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aydin Haslbeck kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, TSV Bäumenheim's Reinhart Riegert tried to score from far away in the 30th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Till Bürsch hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. If Hendrik Pechmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ralph Weichert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hendrik Pechmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. With his leg Willibert Hengemühle managed to avoid a goal in the 45thth minute, when FSV Krefeld's Joachim Treiber fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ralph Weichert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Asbjörn Karger in the 47th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hendrik Pechmann to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, Asbjörn Karger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ralph Weichert was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The FSV Krefeld fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ralph Weichert should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erwin Türkmen during the 82nd minute. After 84 minutes, Louis Vogler mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the TSV Bäumenheim and the FSV Krefeld players grew even worse after the yellow card. TSV Bäumenheim played a much better game than FSV Krefeld and deserved their victory. The FSV Krefeld players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
