When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hasso Päßler made a kick off. If Mesut Vohwinkel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mesut Vohwinkel was extremely unlucky when he, in the 56th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Manfred Kirschner who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Johann Höck when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
