Otfried Gellrich made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franz Rolker in the 11th minute of play. Karl Scheytt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfons Raeder in the 12th minute of the match. Hasso Janz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Otfried Gellrich tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franz Rolker in the 17th minute of play forced Großengottern's goalkeeper Otfried Gellrich to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. TSV Cossebaude's Karl Scheytt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfons Raeder in the 26th minute of play. After 28 played minutes Großengottern got a freekick which was hit by Kai Herbig. 29 minutes into the match, Hasso Janz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Otfried Gellrich. Großengottern's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hasso Janz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Hasso Janz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otfried Gellrich having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in TSV Cossebaude's zone, Alfons Raeder stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karl Scheytt came out of the goal and Alfons Raeder tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 41 minutes into the match, Großengottern's goal looked a bit too open when Sven Nimako came free, but Otfried Gellrich reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Karl Scheytt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Werner Schöpfer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Alfons Raeder made the kick off in the second half. Alfons Raeder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Karl Scheytt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Alfons Raeder managed to get in a good position for a shot. Großengottern's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfons Raeder was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Karl Scheytt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Franz Rolker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Hasso Janz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Otfried Gellrich tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfons Raeder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl Scheytt having to interfere. With a little luck, TSV Cossebaude's Karl Scheytt got control of the ball when Werner Schöpfer tried to sneak it across the goal line. Karl Scheytt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfons Raeder in the 76th minute of the match. Alfons Raeder recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match clock showed 80 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Werner Schöpfer sped through TSV Cossebaude's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Karl Scheytt. TSV Cossebaude's Karl Scheytt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfons Raeder in the 87th minute of play. Werner Schöpfer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Karl Scheytt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Karl Scheytt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfons Raeder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The TSV Cossebaude players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
