The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfons Raeder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Patrik Sudhoff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Großengottern's Alfons Raeder slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Patrik Sudhoff. That made the score 1-0 after 36 minutes of play. Werner Schöpfer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrik Sudhoff having to interfere. Matthias Blechschmidt kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. If Kai Herbig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alfons Raeder stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Max Dauenhauer's late challenge caught a Großengottern's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Max Dauenhauer helped the player get up and apologised. In the 67th minute, Großengottern's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Manfred Kirschner fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 68 minutes into the match, Großengottern's Alfons Raeder sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Patrik Sudhoff narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Großengottern's Alfons Raeder got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfons Raeder in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Patrik Sudhoff saved HAMBURGER SPORT VEREIN from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Bertram Schwarz managed to get in a good position for a shot. HAMBURGER SPORT VEREIN's supporters rose to their feet, but Bertram Schwarz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Otfried Gellrich breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 81 played minutes Mesut Vohwinkel rounded Großengottern's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-1. Bertram Schwarz was shown his second yellow card after 84 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind HAMBURGER SPORT VEREIN's goalkeeper Patrik Sudhoff, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Patrik Sudhoff was left in no man's land by his defense there! For all the effort they put into the match, the HAMBURGER SPORT VEREIN players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Großengottern.
