Gottfried Wendt's late challenge caught a VFL Stade's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. VFL Stade's Akira Küpper got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hilmar Mönnich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Lars Marczinke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Akira Küpper came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the VFL Stade fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Akira Küpper couldn't finish the play. 17 minutes into the match, Nirvana FC's goal looked a bit too open when Akira Küpper came free, but Chris Hofstedde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Hilmar Mönnich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 28 minutes, Marco Kala managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. VFL Stade's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marco Kala was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nirvana FC's Chris Hofstedde played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Akira Küpper in the 29th minute of play. VFL Stade's Lars Marczinke proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save VFL Stade from getting a goal against them. Chris Hofstedde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Akira Küpper in the 36th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Traugott Gerber managed to get in a good position for a shot. VFL Stade's supporters rose to their feet, but Traugott Gerber was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chris Hofstedde breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chris Hofstedde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Traugott Gerber in the 40th minute of the match. VFL Stade's Lars Marczinke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hilmar Mönnich in the 43rd minute of play. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nirvana FC's goalkeeper Chris Hofstedde, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hilmar Mönnich was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Nirvana FC's Richart Scheinert nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lars Marczinke made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Lars Marczinke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hilmar Mönnich, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56th minute Hilmar Mönnich shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lars Marczinke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Richart Scheinert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Reimar Specht came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the VFL Stade fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reimar Specht couldn't finish the play. In the 62nd minute, Nirvana FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Akira Küpper fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Reimar Specht sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marco Kala struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Chris Hofstedde didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VFL Stade. The Nirvana FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
