A collision led to Vielank getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Rudolf Vieth hit a great ball. 9 minutes into the match, Vielank's goal looked a bit too open when Lutger Weibler came free, but Bernd Dambowsky reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee ignored Villingen-Schweninngen SV's protests and gave Lutger Weibler a yellow card for diving instead. Lutger Weibler hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Julius Lamowski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vielank's supporters rose to their feet, but Julius Lamowski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernd Dambowsky came out of the goal and Lutger Weibler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 21st minute, Erk Grytz made a precise shot to the right of Bernd Dambowsky. Vielank's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 27th minute Erk Grytz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernd Dambowsky saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Vielank's zone, Boris Surkemper stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernd Dambowsky came out of the goal and Boris Surkemper tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vielank's Bernd Dambowsky played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lutger Weibler in the 38th minute of play. 39 minutes into the game, Boris Surkemper was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Villingen-Schweninngen SV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vielank the free kick. In the 40th match minute, Villingen-Schweninngen SV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Boris Surkemper to maneuver through the defense. Villingen-Schweninngen SV's Henning Rennicke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julius Lamowski in the 46th minute of play. Bernd Dambowsky made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lutger Weibler in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Paul Uhrig hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Lutger Weibler kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Bernd Dambowsky made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Erk Grytz sent off a good shot on target. Bernd Dambowsky showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lutger Weibler in the 74th minute of the match. Henning Rennicke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julius Lamowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Henning Rennicke stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julius Lamowski's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Bernd Dambowsky took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lutger Weibler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 83 minutes, Julius Lamowski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vielank's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julius Lamowski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Henning Rennicke didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Julius Lamowski went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. In the 86th match minute, Vielank was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thoralf Berens to maneuver through the defense. Lutger Weibler was shown his second yellow card after 87 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Erk Grytz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Villingen-Schweninngen SV's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
