Ruth Croonen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Helmut Dersewski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 37th minute by Hermann Nickel got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Friedrich Bousonville succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 39th playminute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermann Nickel in the 43rd minute of play forced TuS Westfalen Lippe's goalkeeper Emil Still to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46thth minute of the game Hermann Nickel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but TuS Westfalen Lippe's Emil Still was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Hermann Nickel made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Lauf An Der Pegnitz FSV's zone, Peter-Michael Zeller stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruth Croonen came out of the goal and Peter-Michael Zeller tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Friedrich Bousonville came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Lauf An Der Pegnitz FSV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Friedrich Bousonville couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Lauf An Der Pegnitz FSV booed when TuS Westfalen Lippe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Friedemann Hoppenstedt didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Friedrich Bousonville in the 57th minute of play forced TuS Westfalen Lippe's goalkeeper Emil Still to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hermann Nickel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emil Still having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Hermann Nickel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emil Still was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermann Nickel in the 71st minute of play forced TuS Westfalen Lippe's goalkeeper Emil Still to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Peter-Michael Zeller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lauf An Der Pegnitz FSV's Ruth Croonen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Helmut Dersewski in the 79th minute of play. Ruth Croonen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Helmut Dersewski in the 85th minute of play. Friedrich Bousonville fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emil Still having to interfere. If Friedrich Bousonville had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emil Still showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermann Nickel, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
