The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Sikilaçi sk's goal looked a bit too open when Raphael Schellerhoff came free, but Robbie Achterberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Steinhöring booed when Sikilaçi sk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Etienne Reinhoff didn't get a good kick on the ball. Robbie Achterberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stefan Vogl in the 12th minute of the match. Ringo Krebs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristian Buß having to interfere. After 20 minutes, Hardy Herbst mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Steinhöring and the Sikilaçi sk players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Sikilaçi sk booed when Steinhöring was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hardy Herbst didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st play minute Ringo Krebs came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Kristian Buß. 1-0. If Damon Raabe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rolf Nowak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Etienne Reinhoff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Kristian Buß tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Damon Raabe to make the kick off. When Ringo Krebs came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Sikilaçi sk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ringo Krebs couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Steinhöring's zone, Ringo Krebs stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kristian Buß came out of the goal and Ringo Krebs tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 59th minute, Raphael Schellerhoff made a precise shot to the right of Robbie Achterberg. Sikilaçi sk's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Etienne Reinhoff managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sikilaçi sk's supporters rose to their feet, but Etienne Reinhoff was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kristian Buß breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alfred Baier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Kristian Buß tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Etienne Reinhoff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ringo Krebs struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Kristian Buß didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sikilaçi sk. A collision led to Sikilaçi sk getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Alfred Baier hit a great ball. In the 90th minute Damon Raabe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robbie Achterberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sikilaçi sk's Stefan Rentsch quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Henning Räuschel, made in the 92nd minute of the game. The Sikilaçi sk manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Steinhöring to win.
