In the 93rd match minute, Ballkünstler SV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigo Schollmeyer to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Sascha Reichwein in the 94th minute really tested Donald Appel's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When the final whistle sounded Gladbach left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Ballkünstler SV.
