The audience thought a goal was coming when Helge Strebl got free with Josef Appeltrath in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dan Fricke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Heimo Trener tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Magnus Kuhr sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 41 minutes, Marvin Fuss mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gerenort and the Klein Heins FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Marvin Fuss hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute Dan Fricke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heimo Trener saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Klein Heins FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Gerenort were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kai Rau to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Gerenort's Dan Fricke nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Heimo Trener made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Magnus Kuhr fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Heimo Trener having to interfere. If Dan Fricke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 68 minutes into the match, Klein Heins FC's goalkeeper Heimo Trener had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Magnus Kuhr. In the 69th match minute, Klein Heins FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hasso Reinhoff to maneuver through the defense. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Klein Heins FC's goalkeeper Heimo Trener, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. André Ertel's late challenge caught a Gerenort's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. André Ertel helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 73rd minute of the game. One of Klein Heins FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Gerenort:s goal. When the match had been going on for 75 minutes, Gerenort's Dirk Wächter got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Heimo Trener. After a defensive mix-up in Klein Heins FC's zone, Dan Fricke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Heimo Trener came out of the goal and Dan Fricke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 81st minute, Dan Fricke got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Magnus Kuhr had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Magnus Kuhr's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Heimo Trener read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play.
