A beautiful save bye Fain Fighters's goalie prevented a goal. Johannes-Paul Eller hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Fox Bär, 18 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Dieter Terbeck kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 21st minute of the match Viktor Rebmann shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wilfried Assing showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marius Meul in the 23rd minute of play forced Fain Fighters's goalkeeper Wilfried Assing to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wohlerst's Frank-Dieter Appelt got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 27th minute, Sören Henn ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Shingo Karis was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Werner Dettke during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Johannes-Paul Eller charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Johannes-Paul Eller the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fain Fighters's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fox Bär in the 39th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Wohlerst's goalie and right to Sören Henn. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Wohlerst's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Sören Henn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Wohlerst's goalkeeper Shingo Karis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Frank-Dieter Appelt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilfried Assing read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Wilfried Assing made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marius Meul in the 47th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sören Henn was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Marius Meul managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wohlerst's supporters rose to their feet, but Marius Meul was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilfried Assing breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpected shot in the 68th minute by Marius Meul got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Frank-Dieter Appelt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Wilfried Assing tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wilfried Assing took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marius Meul, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 73 minutes, Frank-Dieter Appelt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wohlerst's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank-Dieter Appelt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 75th minute, Marius Meul reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Wilfried Assing. The goal made the score 1-1. Marius Meul received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Wilfried Assing tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fain Fighters's Wilfried Assing played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marius Meul in the 87th minute of play. Mustafa Körner's late challenge caught a Wohlerst's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mustafa Körner helped the player get up and apologised. After 89 played minutes Fain Fighters got a freekick which was hit by Mustafa Körner. Fain Fighters's Wilfried Assing played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marius Meul in the 90th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Wohlerst's Marius Meul slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Wilfried Assing. That made the score 1-2 after 92 minutes of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marius Meul in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilfried Assing prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wohlerst's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
