Marco Riepe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Christian Povel's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. 28 minutes into the game, Victor Meissner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fürth in Wald FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alemannia Aachen the free kick. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Christian Povel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marco Riepe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Povel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 48th minute Christian Povel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Riepe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

53 minutes into the match, Alemannia Aachen's goalkeeper Marco Riepe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stephan Sonneborn. The supporters of Fürth in Wald FC booed when Alemannia Aachen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marc Kobitzki didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Povel in the 91st minute of play forced Alemannia Aachen's goalkeeper Marco Riepe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 97 minutes into the match, Alemannia Aachen's Marc Kobitzki broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal.
