Tobias Juratovic's late challenge caught a Manheim FSV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tobias Juratovic helped the player get up and apologised. In the 35th minute, Andi Gerstner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Iker Gädechens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wolfgang Schrade in the 44th minute of the match. Yorick Stumpf charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After a defensive mix-up in Manheim FSV's zone, Wolfgang Schrade stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iker Gädechens came out of the goal and Wolfgang Schrade tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the FC Simon 1978 players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Manheim FSV.
