After 22 played minutes Alemannia Aachen got a freekick which was hit by Marc Kobitzki. Marco Riepe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Olav Maeth went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Nicholas Daus might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marco Riepe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicholas Daus ran back to his position shaking his head. Olav Maeth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd minute, Anselm Czylwick hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edgar Mannschatz hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Olav Maeth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Riepe having to interfere. In the 45thth minute of the game Olav Maeth who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Alemannia Aachen's Marco Riepe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marco Riepe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicholas Daus in the 46th minute of play. Olav Maeth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Marco Riepe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nicholas Daus to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Nicholas Daus dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Marco Riepe, 0-2. After some careless play in the Merdingen FC defense, Mathias Gielchen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Werner Walser. The Merdingen FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Werner Walser should have stopped the shot. Marco Riepe made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Olav Maeth sent off a good shot on target. Alemannia Aachen's Marco Riepe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicholas Daus in the 74th minute of play. After having played for 78 minutes, Nicholas Daus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Merdingen FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicholas Daus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 80th minute Nicholas Daus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Riepe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 82nd minute, Nicholas Daus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marco Riepe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicholas Daus in the 85th minute of play. Nicholas Daus's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marco Riepe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. If Nicholas Daus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgar Mannschatz during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Alemannia Aachen's Edgar Mannschatz got a free kick in the 90th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Olav Maeth in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marco Riepe prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
