After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Christian Povel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fürth in Wald FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Christian Povel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lukasz Nowak breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 25th match minute, Fürth in Wald FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Meissner to maneuver through the defense. Christian Povel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Lukasz Nowak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute Christian Povel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lukasz Nowak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the game, Victor Meissner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fürth in Wald FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kleingladbach the free kick. A collision led to Fürth in Wald FC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Victor Meissner hit a great ball. Helge Ansmann blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dennis Michalak having to make a save. After some careless play in the Fürth in Wald FC defense, Adrian Baumgartner kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dennis Michalak. The Fürth in Wald FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dennis Michalak should have stopped the shot. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Christian Povel made the kick off in the second half. Adrian Baumgartner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Dennis Michalak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Helge Ansmann's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dennis Michalak was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Lukasz Nowak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Povel in the 64th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 68 minutes, Dennis Michalak successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Lukasz Nowak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Povel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 80 minutes into the game, Kleingladbach's Adrian Baumgartner nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dennis Michalak made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Kleingladbach walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
