Werner Walser came out of the goal and Andi Gerstner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wolfgang Schrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Werner Walser tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ture Barth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicholas Daus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andi Gerstner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 60th of the match, Wolfgang Schrade tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Werner Walser got in the way and made a wonderful save. 60 minutes into the game, Karsten Lewandowski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ture Barth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Merdingen FC. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Merdingen FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
