Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nicholas Daus started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute, Denny Balke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 4th minute, Olav Maeth left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Merdingen FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. The supporters of Merdingen FC booed when Idelberg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michael Teufel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Merdingen FC's Kurt Radbruch couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 8th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Idelberg. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicholas Daus in the 9th minute of play forced Idelberg's goalkeeper Gil Haemer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marc Szolkowy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Werner Walser read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. After 14 minutes, Roland Ulbrich mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Merdingen FC and the Idelberg players grew even worse after the yellow card. Roland Ulbrich hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marc Szolkowy in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Werner Walser saved Merdingen FC from getting behind. In the 17th minute Hannes Beiche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Werner Walser saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Merdingen FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Silvester Grupe hit a great ball. 22 minutes into the match, Idelberg's Tommy Eitenmüller broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Erland Edewecht's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Werner Walser read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. After 43 played minutes Idelberg got a freekick which was hit by Axel Funk. Werner Walser took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hannes Beiche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 47 minutes of play Merdingen FC's Roland Ulbrich was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Merdingen FC's Roland Ulbrich got a free kick in the 48th minute. Marc Szolkowy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. Werner Walser tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

54 minutes into the match, Merdingen FC's goalkeeper Werner Walser had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hannes Beiche. Hannes Beiche sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Merdingen FC's Werner Walser played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marc Szolkowy in the 62nd minute of play. 65 minutes into the game, one of Idelberg:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. With a little luck, Merdingen FC's Werner Walser got control of the ball when Hannes Beiche tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marc Szolkowy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 75 played minutes Merdingen FC got a freekick which was hit by Dirk Baumeister. Olav Maeth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicholas Daus hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Hannes Beiche managed to get in a good position for a shot. Idelberg's supporters rose to their feet, but Hannes Beiche was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Werner Walser breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Nicholas Daus fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Merdingen FC's protests and gave Nicholas Daus a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Merdingen FC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Nicholas Daus hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Marc Szolkowy kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Werner Walser. That made the score 2-2 in the 86 minute of play. In the 95th minute, Tommy Eitenmüller hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Olav Maeth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Gil Haemer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hannes Beiche did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-3 to the left of a surprised Werner Walser 99 minutes into the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Idelberg had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
