Ture Barth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hohenschmark FC. Ture Barth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erich Hartwig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gregor Altmann scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ture Barth, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gregor Altmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Ture Barth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Erich Hartwig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, FC Simon 1978's Andi Gerstner sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jakob Nilßon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Erich Hartwig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ture Barth having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, Gregor Altmann had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ture Barth. FC Simon 1978's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gregor Altmann was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 37th minute Erich Hartwig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ture Barth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Hohenschmark FC's Gregor Altmann in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Simon 1978's goalie prevented a goal. When Gregor Altmann came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Hohenschmark FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gregor Altmann couldn't finish the play. In the 42nd minute, Gregor Altmann ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ture Barth was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After the first half Hohenschmark FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wolfgang Schrade to strike the kick off in the second half. Gregor Altmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 50th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ture Barth having to interfere. 52 minutes into the match, Erich Hartwig had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ture Barth. FC Simon 1978's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Erich Hartwig was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Dennis Pfeifer charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dennis Pfeifer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 58th match minute, Hohenschmark FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dennis Pfeifer to maneuver through the defense. Ture Barth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gregor Altmann in the 60th minute of the match. FC Simon 1978's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Gregor Altmann 65 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-5. In the 71st minute, Gregor Altmann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 74 minutes into the match, Wolfgang Schrade notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Hohenschmark FC's Jakob Nilßon. Jakob Nilßon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Erich Hartwigs short, quick shot in the 78thth minute got Ture Barth to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Erich Hartwig might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ture Barth. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Erich Hartwig ran back to his position shaking his head. 90 minutes into the game, Gregor Altmann lined in a short shot 1-7 behind a frustrated Ture Barth. In the 94th minute Gregor Altmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ture Barth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hohenschmark FC played a much better game than FC Simon 1978 and deserved their victory. The FC Simon 1978 players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
