Lester Felich fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johannes Meiniger having to interfere. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Stuttgart's goalkeeper Volker Böhland, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Lester Felich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rdth minute of the game Lester Felich who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Petershütte's Johannes Meiniger was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Johannes Meiniger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conny Vogel in the 24th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Montgomery Yost notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Stuttgart's Volker Böhland. Volker Böhland was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Johannes Meiniger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conny Vogel, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 40th minute Karl Klock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Volker Böhland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Karl Klock made a kick off. Karl Klock took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Volker Böhland. Volker Böhland dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. A collision led to Stuttgart getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Stuttgart's Volker Böhland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl Klock in the 73rd minute of play. The Stuttgart fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Volker Böhland should have stopped the shot. Petershütte were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
