When the match had gone on for 3 minutes, Donny Lienemann took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Sylvain Kösters to make any attempt to save it. When Axel Leopold came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Kosmonauten Prenzelberg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Axel Leopold couldn't finish the play. 12 minutes into the match, Donny Lienemann dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sylvain Kösters, 2-0. Tassilo Betzer hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Gunter Rössel struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Sylvain Kösters didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VfV Hildesheim. Donny Lienemann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sylvain Kösters having to interfere. Oskar Schweizer charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gunter Rössel in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sylvain Kösters prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Gunter Rössel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Gunter Rössel kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sylvain Kösters. That made the score 3-0 in the 32 minute of play. After 38 played minutes Gunter Rössel rounded Kosmonauten Prenzelberg's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 4-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

Winfried Drewes made a great header on VfV Hildesheim's corner, it was just that Kosmonauten Prenzelberg's Sylvain Kösters managed to reach the ball for a save. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. VfV Hildesheim had played much better football throughout.
