Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Nikolas Gall kicked off to start the match. Andreas von Gartzen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Egon Deffke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Egon Deffke made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Andreas von Gartzen sent off a good shot on target. Klemens Eickhaus hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Hausten FSV's Egon Deffke got control of the ball when Andreas von Gartzen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Egon Deffke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elvis Freese in the 15th minute of the match. After 16 played minutes Hausten FSV got a freekick which was hit by Armin Breuninger. After some careless play in the 1.FC Union Berlin defense, Christian Franke kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Siegmund Splett. The 1.FC Union Berlin fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Siegmund Splett should have stopped the shot. Egon Deffke was a little too slow when Elvis Freese got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 2-1. Andreas von Gartzen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Egon Deffke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Egmund Weiß struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Egon Deffke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 1.FC Union Berlin. If Andreas von Gartzen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Egon Deffke made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andreas von Gartzen in the 40th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andreas von Gartzen got free with Egon Deffke in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Egmund Weiß during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Egmund Weiß hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. 1.FC Union Berlin's Siegmund Splett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nikolas Gall in the 46th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elvis Freese to make the kick off. Christian Franke could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Siegmund Splett made a huge save. If Andreas von Gartzen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nikolas Gall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christian Franke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 72nd minute of the match Onno Laubner shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Egon Deffke showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 74th minute, Ferdinand Deuerling hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 85 minutes into the match, Hausten FSV's goal looked a bit too open when Elvis Freese came free, but Egon Deffke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Onno Laubner, 89 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Andreas von Gartzen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Egon Deffke read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. Onno Laubner took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 95th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Egon Deffke. Hausten FSV's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 1.FC Union Berlin's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
