Andreas von Gartzen scored 0-1 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sebastian Webermann, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 11th match minute, Koln 90 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Endrik Gabler to maneuver through the defense. After 13 minutes of play, 1.FC Union Berlin's Elvis Freese made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sebastian Webermann was left in no man's land by his defense there! Elvis Freese received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Sebastian Webermann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andreas von Gartzen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sebastian Webermann read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. 1.FC Union Berlin's Elvis Freese got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 30 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Elvis Freese sped through Koln 90's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sebastian Webermann. If Keith Suchanek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andreas von Gartzen scored 0-4 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sebastian Webermann, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Elvis Freese received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Sebastian Webermann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elvis Freese fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Webermann having to interfere. Sebastian Webermann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andreas von Gartzen in the 48th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elvis Freese to make the kick off. Keith Suchanek scored 1-4 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Siegmund Splett, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Elvis Freese fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Webermann having to interfere. 59 minutes in the game, Andreas von Gartzen fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Sebastian Webermann having to interfere. Elvis Freese recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sebastian Webermann was a little too slow when Elvis Freese got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 70th minute. The score was now 1-5. 73 minutes into the match, 1.FC Union Berlin's Andreas von Gartzen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sebastian Webermann narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 74 played minutes Koln 90 got a freekick which was hit by Michael Hock. Sebastian Webermann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elvis Freese in the 77th minute of the match. 85 minutes into the match, Koln 90's goal looked a bit too open when Elvis Freese came free, but Sebastian Webermann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th match minute, Koln 90 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Hock to maneuver through the defense. Elvis Freese fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Webermann having to interfere. Andreas von Gartzen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Koln 90 fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. 1.FC Union Berlin were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
