The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 2nd minute of the game. One of Biersdorf:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mutten FC:s goal. After a rather tough play, Biersdorf's Kostja Sass got a free kick in the 5th minute. Biersdorf's Nestor Makhno proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Biersdorf from getting a goal against them. Viktor Ortkemper made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enno Chille in the 14th minute of play. Arnold Senekowitsch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Nestor Makhno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enno Chille in the 36th minute of play forced Mutten FC's goalkeeper Viktor Ortkemper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nestor Makhno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gernot Breddermann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 43 minutes into the match, Biersdorf's goalkeeper Nestor Makhno had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arnold Senekowitsch. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gernot Breddermann stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Biersdorf's Kostja Sass quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Dennis Scharpe, made in the 52nd minute of the game. When Enno Chille came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Biersdorf fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enno Chille couldn't finish the play. Nestor Makhno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gernot Breddermann in the 57th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Biersdorf defense, Arnold Senekowitsch kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nestor Makhno. The Biersdorf fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nestor Makhno should have stopped the shot. 68 minutes into the match, Biersdorf's goal looked a bit too open when Gernot Breddermann came free, but Nestor Makhno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Biersdorf's Enno Chille in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mutten FC's goalie prevented a goal. Arnold Senekowitsch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Makhno having to interfere. After 86 played minutes Biersdorf got a freekick which was hit by Kostja Sass. Biersdorf's Nestor Makhno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnold Senekowitsch in the 87th minute of play. Nestor Makhno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnold Senekowitsch in the 90th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Norbert Rau during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
