Ursus Babel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Klara Gmelin's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Lev Schmedemann's late challenge caught a Friedrichstadt FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lev Schmedemann helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Hellermoor getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Lev Schmedemann hit a great ball. Ursus Babel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 46 minutes, Markus Scheller managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hellermoor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Markus Scheller was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Viggo Riester to make the kick off. Demetrius Kammerer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albert Köbler in the 55th minute of the match. Friedrichstadt FC's Ursus Babel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Friedrichstadt FC from getting a goal against them. During the 68th minute of the match Carsten Zeil completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Carsten Zeil a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Friedrichstadt FC's Carsten Zeil got a free kick in the 68th minute. 78 minutes into the game, Friedrichstadt FC's Albert Köbler nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Demetrius Kammerer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Klara Gmelin in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ursus Babel saved Friedrichstadt FC from getting behind. Klara Gmelin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ursus Babel having to interfere. If Albert Köbler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Hellermoor supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Hellermoor would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
