After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Mark Berlich managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mehmet Ali Schaffert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phil Strothmann having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Cosimo Brenner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Nordhorner FC's zone, Mehmet Ali Schaffert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Phil Strothmann came out of the goal and Mehmet Ali Schaffert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 46th minute, Mehmet Ali Schaffert ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Phil Strothmann was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kaspar Brunnemer was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cosimo Brenner in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Phil Strothmann prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the Nordhorner FC defense, Patrick Oliver Stapel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Phil Strothmann. The Nordhorner FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Phil Strothmann should have stopped the shot. A collision led to BVB getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Mark Berlich hit a great ball. In the 67th minute, Patrick Oliver Stapel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 69th minute, Jonas Schnoor fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post.
