When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Matthias W Kastener made a kick off. Benjamin Gutjahr ran back to his position shaking his head. BVB's Michael Elbert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matthias W Kastener in the 55th minute of play. The supporters of BVB booed when TSV Lindau 1896 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Knut Uehlemann didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Gerd Assmann managed to avoid a goal in the 59thth minute, when BVB's Cosimo Brenner fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 61st minute, Knut Uehlemann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 67 minutes into the game, BVB's Cosimo Brenner nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gerd Assmann made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. Cosimo Brenner in the 70thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gerd Assmann, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. TSV Lindau 1896's Gerd Assmann proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save TSV Lindau 1896 from getting a goal against them. In the 95thth minute of the game Matthias W Kastener who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BVB's Michael Elbert was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 97th minute Lajos Bier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerd Assmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The TSV Lindau 1896 supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching BVB's performance. The match ended with a win for BVB.
