Philippe Höfken showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermann Poß, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 24th minute, Oliver Kühnle ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Matthäus Wiesenberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 29th minute, Hermann Poß got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Oliver Kühnle came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Fc Sari fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oliver Kühnle couldn't finish the play. In the 35th minute Ralph Duin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Philippe Höfken saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hermann Poß received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Philippe Höfken tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Lothar Frisse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Höne's Lothar Bäcker got a free kick in the 46th minute. A well placed Lothar Frisse short distance shot in the 48th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lothar Frisse to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, Lothar Bäcker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Oliver Kühnle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oliver Kühnle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Matthäus Wiesenberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ed Bruder charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Ed Bruder hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Höne's Oliver Schaf tried to score from far away in the 72nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Hermann Poß was extremely unlucky when he, in the 73rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Lothar Frisse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matthäus Wiesenberg having to interfere. After 83 played minutes Höne got a freekick which was hit by Ralph Duin. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Hermann Poß managed to get in a good position for a shot. Höne's supporters rose to their feet, but Hermann Poß was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Philippe Höfken breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
