Gabor Blohberger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jens-Erik Bergers in the 21st minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Arminia Bielefeld's goalkeeper Gabor Blohberger had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leo Schwanitz. In the 27th minute, Leo Schwanitz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Groß Schwülper fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Arminia Bielefeld's Fortunato Niggemann got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fortunato Niggemann made a kick off. Gabor Blohberger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leo Schwanitz in the 56th minute of the match. Yussuf Schwunk charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Yussuf Schwunk the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gabor Blohberger dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. Groß Schwülper walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
