Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Fortunato Niggemann made the kick off which started today's match. Ralph Duin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gabor Blohberger read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 2nd minute of play. 4 minutes into the match, Hermann Poß had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gabor Blohberger. Arminia Bielefeld's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hermann Poß was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 8 minutes into the game, Ralph Duin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Gabor Blohberger was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Ralph Duin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gabor Blohberger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ralph Duin, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. A collision led to Arminia Bielefeld getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Jürgen Gömleksiz hit a great ball. Fortunato Niggemann blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Matthäus Wiesenberg having to make a save. Tommy Mendelsohn hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Höne's Oliver Schaf got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hermann Poß fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabor Blohberger having to interfere. The supporters of Höne booed when Arminia Bielefeld was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jürgen Gömleksiz didn't get a good kick on the ball.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hermann Poß made a kick off. Fortunato Niggemann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Höne getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Hermann Poß hit a great ball. Gabor Blohberger made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Ralph Duin sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Arminia Bielefeld's Jack-Peter Zahl got a free kick in the 59th minute. Arminia Bielefeld's Gabor Blohberger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ralph Duin in the 65th minute of play. Jörg Enkelmann hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Ralph Duin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Gabor Blohberger made a huge save. In the 75th minute, Jack-Peter Zahl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 87 played minutes Arminia Bielefeld got a freekick which was hit by Jörg Enkelmann. After a defensive mix-up in Arminia Bielefeld's zone, Hermann Poß stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabor Blohberger came out of the goal and Hermann Poß tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fortunato Niggemann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jürgen Gömleksiz kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
