With his leg Stephan Dabrock managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Schiavonea FC's Rudi Hillenbrand fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Schiavonea FC's Dick Schickmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ryan Germann in the 24th minute of play. If Ryan Germann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute, Ryan Germann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 37 minutes into the match, Ryan Germann notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Schiavonea FC's Dick Schickmann. Dick Schickmann was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wilhelm Kübler stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Polonia Neu-Ulm's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ryan Germann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Ryan Germann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rudi Hillenbrand blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Stephan Dabrock having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Stefano Henrich managed to get in a good position for a shot. Polonia Neu-Ulm's supporters rose to their feet, but Stefano Henrich was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dick Schickmann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 84th minute, Stefano Henrich got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Polonia Neu-Ulm's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
