The audience was convinced that Ryan Germann's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bruno Gapp was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. After recieving a nice pass, SV Blumen Osterfeld's David Schmelzer tried to score from far away in the 23rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Bruno Gapp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stefano Henrich in the 24th minute of the match. SV Blumen Osterfeld's Arno Melzer got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Björn Gondro during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, SV Blumen Osterfeld's Björn Gondro got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind SV Blumen Osterfeld's goalkeeper Bruno Gapp, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Arvid Bongartz fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SV Blumen Osterfeld's protests and gave Arvid Bongartz a yellow card for diving instead. In the 38th match minute, SV Blumen Osterfeld was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arvid Bongartz to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stefano Henrich in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bruno Gapp saved SV Blumen Osterfeld from getting behind. Arvid Bongartz was shown his second yellow card after 43 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Benjamin Huff's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bruno Gapp read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. Bruno Gapp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Rocks in the 46th minute of the match. In the 47th minute, Ryan Germann left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Polonia Neu-Ulm fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ryan Germann stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ryan Germann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Bruno Gapp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bruno Gapp took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stefano Henrich, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bruno Gapp was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. But to his dismay, Stefano Henrich quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Polonia Neu-Ulm walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
