The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Frederico Kuinke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sascha Wehr in the 4th minute of play. When Harald Klain fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored TSV Vardy Die Schon 13's protests and gave Harald Klain a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Schachthalden booed when TSV Vardy Die Schon 13 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harald Klain didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute of the match Espen Elbert shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Frederico Kuinke showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Frederico Kuinke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sascha Wehr, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Siegfried Hildebrandt's late challenge caught a TSV Vardy Die Schon 13's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Siegfried Hildebrandt helped the player get up and apologised. Siegfried Hildebrandt hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. If Jim Rinke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jim Rinke in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Frederico Kuinke prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sascha Wehr sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 48thth minute of the game Sascha Wehr who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Schachthalden's Frederico Kuinke was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

If Sascha Wehr had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The long shot by Tom Rösler in the 56th minute really tested Frederico Kuinke's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Sascha Wehr fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederico Kuinke having to interfere. Jim Rinke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Jim Rinke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Irmin Schall hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. The long shot by Gerrit Bousonville in the 80th minute really tested Frederico Kuinke's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Irmin Schall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Elis Twupack tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jim Rinke came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the TSV Vardy Die Schon 13 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jim Rinke couldn't finish the play. Frederico Kuinke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sascha Wehr in the 95th minute of play. TSV Vardy Die Schon 13 played a much better game than Schachthalden and deserved their victory. The Schachthalden players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
