But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Helge Wolff couldn't finish the play. Benno Huermann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lemmy Füngerlings having to interfere. Tobias Biermann was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 32nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Helge Wolff was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 33rd minute. Sölde's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 37 minutes into the game, Zwi Elzner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sölde's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Elterlein the free kick. Sölde's Helge Wolff got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lemmy Füngerlings made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benno Huermann in the 43rd minute of play. Benno Huermann blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lemmy Füngerlings having to make a save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Helge Wolff was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Sölde's zone, Benno Huermann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lemmy Füngerlings came out of the goal and Benno Huermann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 54th minute, Zwi Elzner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Sölde's Helge Wolff in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Elterlein's goalie prevented a goal. After 72 played minutes Benno Huermann rounded Sölde's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-3. Elterlein's Hugo Kalitta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Friedrich Witlatschil in the 78th minute of play. Sölde's defense didn't have a chance, in the 82nd minute, when Benno Huermann scored to the left of an out of position Lemmy Füngerlings, making the score, 1-4. Benno Huermann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Lemmy Füngerlings tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 92nd match minute, Sölde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florian Schnitzer to maneuver through the defense. After 94 minutes, Friedrich Witlatschil mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sölde and the Elterlein players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Elterlein booed when Sölde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Friedrich Witlatschil didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute of the match Tobias Biermann sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lemmy Füngerlings skillfully saved the ball. 97 minutes into the match, Bastian Krafft notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Sölde's Lemmy Füngerlings. Lemmy Füngerlings was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Sölde supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Elterlein's performance. The match ended with a win for Elterlein.
