The supporters of FC Oligo booed when FC Südstadt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walther Schaape didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Oligo's Hardi Musser played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Traugott Hunger in the 11th minute of play. Hardi Musser came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Südstadt's Arndt Wittbusch. But to his dismay, Arndt Wittbusch quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Traugott Hunger managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Südstadt's supporters rose to their feet, but Traugott Hunger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hardi Musser breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When FC Südstadt's Traugott Hunger in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Edo von Witzendorff blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rudi Knecht having to make a save. 35 minutes into the match, Traugott Hunger notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of FC Oligo's Hardi Musser. Hardi Musser was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edo von Witzendorff in the 40th minute of play forced FC Südstadt's goalkeeper Rudi Knecht to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hardi Musser made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Traugott Hunger in the 43rd minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Traugott Hunger was the one to do the kick off. When Arndt Wittbusch came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the FC Südstadt fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arndt Wittbusch couldn't finish the play. Hartmut Georgii struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Rudi Knecht didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Oligo. 61 minutes into the match, FC Oligo's goal looked a bit too open when Traugott Hunger came free, but Hardi Musser reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hartmut Georgii fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rudi Knecht having to interfere. After having played for 70 minutes, Traugott Hunger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Südstadt's supporters crossed their fingers, but Traugott Hunger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When FC Oligo's Hartmut Georgii in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After having played for 94 minutes, Arndt Wittbusch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Südstadt's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arndt Wittbusch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC Südstadt walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
